Illustrated cover: Inside the Admobi driver and rider partner network in Nairobi

Every taxi-top and delivery bike flight advertisers book runs on hardware fitted to real vehicles owned by real drivers and riders. The advertiser side of Admobi only works because the partner side, the fleet, is onboarded, paid, and maintained properly. Here is what that process looks like end to end.

Applying to the network

Owners of taxis and delivery bikes apply with a short form covering city and vehicle type. Applications are reviewed by city, and the team confirms eligibility and schedules installation, typically responding within three business days.

Free installation, Admobi-owned hardware

A certified technician fits the LED screen or enclosure directly to the vehicle, usually in under two hours. Admobi installs and owns the screen: drivers and riders do not pay for installation, maintenance, or replacement if a unit develops a fault under normal use.

Running without extra work

Screens play automatically during normal driving hours. Partners do not manage content, scheduling, or playback, that is handled centrally so a driver's job stays driving, not operating an ad unit. Every ad is reviewed by Admobi before it goes live, and partners can flag anything they are uncomfortable displaying.

How payouts are calculated

Monthly earnings are based on active screen hours and verified GPS data, the same data that generates advertiser-facing proof-of-play. Exact rates are confirmed at onboarding based on city and vehicle type, and payouts are made to M-Pesa by the 5th of each month.

Vehicle requirements and flexibility

Vehicles must be roadworthy, insured, and actively operating in a covered city; eligibility is confirmed before installation. The arrangement is not a long-term lock-in, either side can end it with 14 days notice, and Admobi arranges hardware collection at no cost to the partner.

Why this matters to advertisers

A well-onboarded, fairly paid partner fleet is what makes corridor coverage and GPS proof-of-play reliable for advertisers. When drivers and riders are compensated for active hours rather than a flat installation fee, screens stay switched on and maintained, which is the operational backbone behind every campaign brief Admobi confirms.
